John F. Ciesielski, 96 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at his residence.
He was born on May 15, 1927 to the late John and Martha (Bruch) Ciesielski in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha.
On August 29, 1945 he entered the US Army and was stationed in Germany and was a Guard Patrolman for 14 months during WWII. He was honorably discharged on June 2, 1947. He received the Army Occupational Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
On May 29, 1948 he married Doris Fonk at St. George Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on January 1, 2016.
John worked at Simmons Company for 11 years then as a forklift truck driver for AMC/Chrysler for 33 years, retiring on October 1, 1988. He was a member of UAW Local 72.
John was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
John and Doris enjoyed snowbirding in Las Vegas and going to the casinos. He was an avid Cubs and Packers fan. Most of all, John loved spending time with family.
John is survived by his children Dan E. (Rhonda) Ciesielski, Vickie (Wes) Stehlik and Sharon (Tony) Del Frate all of Kenosha, his grandchildren John Flannery, Dina Flannery, Mark Flannery, J.D. Olsen, Jodi Lessner, Lora Ciesielski and Keri Ciesielski, his great grandchildren Peyton, Sarai, Jake, McKenna, Jordan, Kahlen, Tyler, Tearsa, Brandon and Alyssa, his great great grandchildren Emerson, Elliott and Rue and a sister Elsie Carver.
He is preceded in death by three brothers Adam, Julius and Frank and a sister Clara.
Funeral Services for John will be held on Friday, January 19th at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the Bruch Funeral Home. Entombment with Full Military Honors will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
