John Kevin Higginbotham, 55 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in Minneapolis, MN.
He was born March 15, 1969, in Jonesboro, AR, the son of Donald and Barbara (Wills) Higginbotham. Kevin was raised in Church Point, LA and graduated from Louisiana State University.
He was the man who knew how to live life, spending his pre-family years throwing caution to the wind and embracing adventure, a trait passed down to his children. His love of sports and music ran deep, something he passed on to his son. In terms of sports, we were never an off-season household as Kevin enjoyed them all. His musical passion was as diverse. From metal to jazz and everything in between, Kevin’s playlists included everything.
Above all, though, his greatest love and passion was his family. One could not sit with Kevin without having a conversation about the accomplishments of Nathan and Angelica. There was no greater pride for him. His plans, his interests, his wants always followed what we wanted. If we wanted, he wanted alongside us. He was undoubtedly, the rock of our family and our safety net always.
Survivors include his wife, Christina Caceres; children, Nathan Higginbotham and stepdaughter, Angelica Cuevas; and his father, Donald Higginbotham.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Wills (Higginbotham).
Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Proko Funeral Home. Memorial services will commence at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Wisconsin chapter of the American Heart Association in Kevin’s memory.
