John P. Zick Jr., aged 81, of Twin Lakes, WI, passed away on June 22, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born on May 16, 1942, in Chicago, IL, to the late John and Valerie (Dudek) Zick Sr. On May 10, 1980, he married Doreen Vodvarka in Palos Hills, IL. John worked at Solar Corporation in Libertyville, IL, from 1986 until 2007, during which time he obtained multiple patents for his inventions. He was an enthusiastic Green Bay Packers fan, holding season tickets for ten years and attending every home game. John delighted in sharing the joy of the Packers by bringing family and friends to games at Lambeau Field. He also had a passion for classic cars, taking his 1965 Dodge Coronet to the drag strip and attending local car shows. Above all, he took immense pride in his family and grandchildren, dedicating most of his time ensuring their happiness and well-being. John’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
John is survived by his wife, Doreen, a brother, Daniel(Nancy) Zick and his children: Anthony (Angie) Zick, Lynette (Scott) Graves, Stacie (Mark) Sherman, and Samantha (Scott) Martin. He was a loving grandfather to Andy, Cody, Kaylee, Chase, Nadia, Colby, Berkley, Auden, Rylow, and Gracie. He was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of his great-grandson, Jalen. Special niece and nephew, Amie and Taylor Zick. He was preceded in death by his deeply missed brother, Donald Zick, and sister-in-law Satomi Zick.
