Josephine “Jo” Spair, 84, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center.
Born on October 27, 1939, in Melrose Park, IL, she was the daughter of the late Alberico and Teresa (Agasucci) Mannozzi.
On August 15, 1959, she married Sam Spair in Melrose Park, IL. They later moved to Bartlett, IL where they lived for 22 years. In 2016, they moved to Kenosha where he later preceded her in death on May 13, 2019.
If you could sum up Jo in one word it would be FAMILY. She looked forward to Sunday family dinners, watching her family and somehow always “became allergic to the kitchen appliances”. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and had the honor of being called “GG”. She would have weekly dominos and food with her friends in the cul-de-sac and looked forward to the weekly (if not daily) neighborhood Happy Hour.
Jo is survived by her two children, Sam (Joan) Spair and Debbie (Mark) Camaioni; four grandchildren, Sam (Tiffany) Spair, Michelle (Steven) Dimitrijevic, Jenny (Jonathan) Booth, and Laura (Trever) Arnold; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Sawyer, Lakelyn, Rudi, Lena, Elle, and two more on the way; and sister, Sophia Cicero. Jo was also very close with all her nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael in infancy; and siblings, Elena Pantaleo and “Lash” Mannozzi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in IL will be private. A visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance or St. Jude’s https://www.stjude.org/donate would be appreciated by the family.
