Karen M. Hand, 54, of Twin Lakes, WI, passed away on Wednesday, June 14th, at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington, WI. She was born on April 14th, 1969, in Chicago Heights, IL, to the late Stephen and Claudette (Herman) Stasko. Karen went on to attend Western Illinois University earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She channeled her love for words, rhymes, and puns into a lifetime of helping others through her work as a Speech Therapist in school systems. Karen always put others’ interests before her own, with an ever-present smile on her face. Her big heart held room for a love of all animals. Karen and Tom Hand enjoyed 21 years of marriage, and many more years of friendship.
Karen is survived by former husband, Tom; three children, Steven, Emily, and Hailey Hand; and all the animals on the farm.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20th, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM, at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 620 Legion Drive, Twin Lakes, WI.
Continued visitation and a short prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 21st, at 9:00AM with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 701 N. Lake Avenue, Twin Lakes, WI. A private burial will take place at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery.
