Kelly Marie VanBendegom, 45, of Kenosha WI, passed away on August 16th, 2023, at Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie WI. She was born to parents Gary and Christine VanBendegom (NEE:Hames) on August 7th 1978 in Kenosha WI. Kelly was a graduate of Bradford High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Baker College as well as a Master of Arts in HR Development from Webster University in St. Louis MO.
Kelly was a lifelong music lover, competing in Wisconsin State Music Competitions while in Jr. High and High School. She earned superior ratings multiple times as a soloist playing both the clarinet and tenor saxophone.
As a devoted loving single mother of her 9-year-old son Chance Allen, Kelly soon learned of her desire to share knowledge with her children. She became a substitute teacher for Kenosha Unified School District and had been working on obtaining certification from the American Board for Certification of Teachers Excellence prior to her passing.
Kelly is survived by her one son, Chance Allen, her two brothers, Stephen Schmidt of Green Bay WI and Jim VanBendegom of Fenton MO, father, Gary VanBendegom of Baraboo WI, mother, Christine (Robert) Hamilton of St. Charles MO along with countless loving family members and friends.
An extra special thank you to Lisa Weyrauch and her daughter Kelsey, Dan and Linda Weyrauch, as well as Jenny, Mike, Steven, and Katie Baker.
The family would like to also thank Hospice Alliance and the entire staff at Aurora Cancer Center for the care and compassion they showed Kelly.

A memorial service for Kelly will be held on Monday, August 21st, 2023 at Kemper Center Founders Hall in Kenosha (6501 3rd Ave 53143). Visitation begins at 12:30pm and service to take place at 1:00pm.
