La Verne worked in the office at Walker Manufacturing until her marriage in January 1951 to Harold Floyd Kreuser. They were wed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Racine, Wisconsin. She moved to Kenosha after her marriage. After her children were grown, she enjoyed a second career at Gateway Technical Institute as a Registrar.
Throughout La Verne’s life, she enjoyed sewing clothes for her young daughters, bowling, knitting (especially all the slippers!), playing pinnacle, cribbage, and dancing with the light of her life, her husband, Harold “Babe” Kreuser. Most important to La Verne was her family. She always supported school activities and sports in which her children and grandchildren were involved. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kenosha for most of her adult life.
La Verne is survived by her three children, Diane L. Carlson of Kenosha, Linda (Frank) Peterson of Las Vegas, and Jim (Jane) Kreuser, Sr. of Kenosha. She is further survived by six grandchildren (Edwin Haack, Jeannie Ledwitch, Christopher Haack, Valerie Quintero, Jim Kreuser, Jr., and Justin Kreuser) and eleven great-grandchildren (Joseph Rundlett, Samantha Ledwitch, Madelaine Ledwitch, Brooke Haack, Kaden Haack, Evan Haack, Bethany Haack, Leah Carver, Jesse Quintero, Gloria Quintero and Evelyn Kreuser).
