Larry L. Sladek passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center. He remained strong for one and a half years against Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) Cancer.
Larry was born on April 6, 1936, in Marshfield, WI, to the late Helen V. (Henning) and James Sladek. He attended Mary D. Bradford High School where he played football and met the love of his life, Dolores E. Schilling. They got married on June 23, 1956, at the Bethany Lutheran Church.
Larry was in the US Airforce in Maine (Aircraft Control). Upon returning to Kenosha, he worked at R&W construction. He then worked at AMC as an employment manager and labor relations supervisor. He retired in 1989 and worked part-time at Palmen Motors.
Larry was blessed with 3 wonderful children Lance (Kenosha), Scott (Bethune, SC), and Renee (Jon) (Sarasota, FL). A sister Audrey (Donald) Autrey of (Clovis, CA) a niece Tiffany Benjamin (Clovis, CA).
Larry was also blessed with 5 wonderful grandchildren, Dr. Anthony Greco of (Erie, PA), Cameron Greco (L.A CA), Brookelynn Greco (Sarasota, FL), Rachael (BJ) Baker (Bethune, SC), and Jonathan Ganey (Bethune, SC).
Larry enjoyed watching all of the grandchildren’s activities over the years. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends, especially to Jamaica where he enjoyed his Reggae music and his winters in Sarasota, FL., golfing and fishing. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, AMC Supervisor Club, Kenosha Car Club, the PLAV, and the A.M.O. He was an avid Packers fan, Cubs fan, he loved old films, and he was an enthusiast of cars. He was on the Honor Flight and loved his experience.
