Lawrence “Larry” Wade, 73, of Hartland, WI, passed away unexpectedly at his home, on July 14, 2024.
Larry was born to the late William and Margaret (Molinaro) Wade, on February 22, 1951, in Kenosha WI, where he lived most of his life. He went on to graduate in 1969 from St. Joesph Catholic Academy then went on to Parkside College for his bachelors. He was known for his many accomplishments in Basketball and Baseball and for coaching many teams. He was a substitute teacher for some years at Tremper High school and St. Joe’s.
Larry met Lori Lienau in Kenosha where they went on to raise their daughter Kathryn Wade and Lori’s two children Emily (Brian) Jan and John Brekeller. Many years spent living in the Forest Park Neighborhood and was always known to host a good Fish Fry.
Being the incredible cook he was Larry went on to own and operate several bars and restaurants in southeastern Wisconsin, including managing the kitchen at the Brat Stop for many years. The last couple of years he spent his time cooking for many establishments in the Waukesha area and doing the one thing he loved most, fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Wade; stepchildren, John Brekeller and Emily (Brian) Jan; grandchildren, Kyler Wade, Keirra Placek, Roane Brekeller, Fionna Jan, Cecelia Jan, and Emmit Jan; siblings Marianna Matteucci, Kathleen (Marty) Haven, and Michael (Ann) Wade; Nephews, Dr. John (Beth) Matteucci Jr., Thomas Matteucci, Dr. Robert (Victoria) Matteucci, Dr. Michael (Sara) Matteucci, Paul (Amber) Havnen, and Tim Havnen; nieces, Dr. Mary (Joseph) Ouimet, Caroline (Tom) Janke, Janine (Jeffrey) Havnen, and Ashley Wade.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death to his brother, Gerald Wade, and brother-in-law, John Matteucci Sr.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family.
Visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from to 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a procession to St. George Cemetery, where a graveside service will be held.
A memorial celebration of life will take place on August 8th, 2024, at VFW Post 1865, 6618 39th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53142, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
