Lois Kosmatka, 86, of Kenosha passed away on June 18, 2021, at Meadowmere Southport surrounded by her loving family.
Lois was born on January 24, 1935, in Hawley, MN, the daughter of the late Henry & Gilberta (Smart) Lais. She was educated in the schools of Grand Forks, North Dakota and graduated from the University of North Dakota with bachelor’s degrees in dietetics and elementary education. Lois married Steve R. Kosmatka on October 30, 1957. She was a farm wife and worked as an elementary school teacher in Minto, ND. Lois was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warsaw, North Dakota and St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Her hobbies included playing the piano and accordion, ceramics, travel, and collecting and making dolls and doll clothes, but most of all loved spending time with her friends and family.
Survivors include her son Steven (Glory) Kosmatka of Wadsworth, IL and her brother David Lais of Seattle, Washington. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Kosmatka; daughter, Joyce; sister, Rita; and her brothers, Richard, Ron, Lee & Ray.
A celebration of life will be held in Warsaw, ND.
