Louis R. Polovick, 73 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital, with his family by his side.
He was born June 5, 1951, in Akron OH the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Prevost) Polovick. On October 16, 1971, he married his love, Elizabeth “Betty” Modrijan in Kenosha.
He proudly served in the United States Navy and was deployed to Vietnam from 1970 to 1971 where he served as a gunner’s mate. Lou volunteered for the Kenosha Area Vietnam Veterans and supported the Disabled American Veterans and Wounded Warriors Project.
Lou retired from Abbott Laboratories as an electrician. He was also skilled at woodworking, building cabinets, pickle hutches, and other projects for family and friends. He was known for his sense of humor and sharp wit.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; children, Jen (Peter) Riemenschneider, Jason (Melissa) Polovick, Julie (Alan Fenske) Polovick, and Catherine Polovick; grandchildren, Jacob, Isaac, Wynne, and Emmett; and siblings, Joan Gardener, Greg Polovick, and Chrissy Haida.
In addition to his parents, Lou is preceded in death by his siblings, Joe and Steve Polovick.
A celebration of life will be held at Proko Funeral Home on August 3, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Noon with military honors to follow. He will be laid to rest privately at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
