Margaret “Marleen” K. Lorenz, age 85, a resident of Twin Lakes for over 50 years, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Margaret was born in Chicago to John and Catherine (Gibbons) Vani. She was united in marriage to Robert Lorenz on November 16th, 1963 in Chicago.
Marleen loved many things, but none more than her family. She loved gatherings with family and friends, her Irish heritage and being a grandma to her 8 grandchildren. She loved her home on Lake Elizabeth and caring for her dogs. Marleen spent a lot of time helping people, first as a registered nurse, then as a psychotherapist specializing in Agoraphobia and Fear of Flying. She was also a volunteer for hospice and the READS program at Star Center grade school.
Marleen is survived by her children; Cathy (Mark) Rotman, Rich Lorenz (Sara Schiffler), and Michael (Dianna) Lorenz. Her siblings; Rick Vani, Rosemary Hudson, Joe Vani, Maryann (Lanny) Goyn, and Jean (Bob) LeDonne. She is further survived by her grandchildren; Drew, Katie, Grant, Johnathan, William, Grace, Faith, and Hope.
Marleen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Lorenz, and her brother Terry Vani.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
Visitation will be held at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 620 Legion Drive, Twin Lakes, on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Visitation will also be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 701 N. Lake Ave, Twin Lakes, on Thursday, April 3rd, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Haase-Lockwood and Associates are proud to have served the Lorenz family.
