Maria Diaz, 91, of Racine, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha surrounded by her loving family.
Maria was born on April 24, 1930, in Zacatecas, Mexico, the daughter of the late Juan and Florentina (Aquilar) Haro. She was educated in the schools of Mexico. Maria married Alberto Diaz Briseno on June 24, 1946, in Mexico. Her hobbies included seamstress work, sewing, singing, spending time with friends but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially on the porch and during family holidays.
Survivors include her children, Alberto (Guadalupe) Diaz of Arkansas, Emilia (Jacob) Salas of Kenosha, Carlos (Lucy) Diaz of Racine, George (Christina) Diaz of Kenosha, Gerardo (Evyonne) Diaz of Racine, Ricardo (Pauline) Diaz of Racine, Frances Diaz of Racine; sisters, Teresa and Maria Haro both of California; also included are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, Juan and Genaro Diaz; grand-daughter Florentina Diaz and her grandson, Genaro Diaz.
A visitation will be held at Kenosha Funeral Services on Monday, October 4, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 PM with funeral services to follow the next day Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 11:00 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 7117-14th Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53143.
