Maria Meyer (nee Preckl), age 76, of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2025, with loved ones at her side. Maria was born in Hilsbach, Germany on May 24, 1948, to Andreas and Anna Preckl. The family later immigrated to the United States where Maria grew up and started a family.
Maria married Jerry Meyer in May of 1994 and remained united until the very end.
Maria made her career as a waitress, where she enjoyed intermingling with her customers and making people smile. Her high spirit, infectious smile and delicious cooking touched the lives of all who knew her. Maria was a spitfire who loved to joke, laugh and be playful. Anyone in her presence was sure to have a good time! Maria will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with such a remarkable woman.
Remaining to cherish Maria’s memory are her husband, Jerry Meyer; children, Algwyn (Jacqueline) Stanley of Sioux Falls, SD, Brian (Gina) Stanley of Antioch, IL, Robert Stanley of Twin Lakes, WI and Daryl (Dorsie) Stanley of Twin Lakes, WI; sisters, Eva Schmidt and Rosina Matijevic and brother Johann (Asena) Preckl; grandchildren, Zachary (Jeanette) Stanley, Brandon (Brittany) Stanley, Jonathon (Nicole) Stanley, Katheryn (Tucker McCarthy) Stanley, Corey (Amy) Stanley, step-grandchildren Melissa (David) Ayers, Krista (Jose) Gonzalez, Amanda Lane, Christopher (Morgan) Hubbard and Josh Hubbard; great-grandchildren, Gianna, Malcolm, Logan, Kiera, Patrick, Theodore, Everett, Saige, Carter, Waylon, Drake, Derek, David, Asher, Lilly, Alyk, Braiden, Rowan and Cameron; step-sons, John (Deborah) Meyer, Paul (Jill) Meyer and Dan (Kristy) Meyer; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Maria in death are her parents Andreas and Anna Preckl; sisters, Anna Reiter and Theresa Taylor, and brothers, Andreas Preckl and Franz Preckl.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Haase Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI. May she rest in peace, forever cherished and never forgotten.
