Mariel “Ellie” Grace Haverkamp, 29, formerly of Kenosha, late of Madison.
Ellie’s life was tragically cut short in a horrible traffic accident on May 20, 2021.
Ellie was born on February 16, 1992 in El Paso Texas to Jeanne (Pecnick) & Chris Haverkamp. Growing up in a military family, she covered a lot of ground her first six years living in New Mexico, California & Illinois before settling in Kenosha WI.
In Kenosha, she attended Columbus Elementary, Dimensions of Learning Academy and Indian Trail Academy – House of Communications. She was a member of the Barracuda swim team for 6 years and also swam for Bradford High School. She went on to get a degree in Video & Motion Graphics at Madison Media Institute. After college she began working and made her home in Madison, Wisconsin where set met the love of her life, Scott. Ellie’s infectious smile and quirky personality touched every one she met. We were blessed to have Ellie 29 years. We will truly miss her.
Ellie is survived by her parents, her siblings and best friends, Jared Haverkamp & Gretchen Haverkamp, her grandparents Lorraine Pecnick & Charlie Giorno, the love of her life for the past 8 years, Scott Rourk and countless loved family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert Pecnick, Bev (Martin) & Jim Haverkamp.
A Celebration of Ellie’s life will take place at the VFW (6618 – 39th Ave.) in Kenosha on Saturday, June 5th from 2-7. Blessing will be at 2:30.
