Marilyn M. Elverman, née Thiede, age 84, of Twin Lakes, WI, died on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center Burlington. Daughter of the late Erwin and Gunda (Holden) Thiede, Marilyn was born on February 24, 1938, in Burlington, WI. In her younger years, Marilyn enjoyed roller skating and participating in 4-H, where she would meet her future husband. On October 1, 1955, she was united in marriage with the late Harold B. Elverman in Burlington, WI. She was a devoted member of Hope Lutheran Church in Twin Lakes. For over 50 years, Marilyn worked at the Nestlé Chocolate and Confection Factory. In her free time, Marilyn loved to shop at her favorite stores—Trader Joe’s, Athleta, and Soma; as well at flea markets, farmers markets, and antique shops. She delighted in visiting the beauty salon to have her hair done by her granddaughter. Marilyn also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Daytona and NASCAR racing. She was always on-the-go and spunky, and one of her favorite things for over 65 wonderful years was telling her husband what to do. Above all else, Marilyn was a caring and generous woman who loved her family deeply.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Keith Elverman; granddaughters, Victoria Canfield and Tauna (Trent) Marko; great-grandchildren, Haven Murdock, Camden (Bradlee) Keoppel, and Tatumn Canfield; great-great-grandchildren, Silas Murdock and Orion Keoppel; sister, Evelyn (Max Bair) Delcorps; and nieces, Marcia (Bob) Schmidt and Lori (Roger) Portner.
In death she is reunited with her husband, Harold Elverman; son, Todd Elverman; sister, Judy Bode; brother, Irv Thiede; nephew, John Delcorps; and her parents, Erwin and Gunda Thiede.
A private funeral service will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. Memorials in Marilyn’s honor can be made to Hope Lutheran Church, 876 Lance Dr., Twin Lakes, WI 53181.
