Martin Garrett Lucas, 61 years old of Pleasant Prairie, WI passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at his home.
He was born October 12, 1962, in DuPage County, IL the son of Richard and Victoria (Sykes) Lucas. In 1992, he married Teresa Barone in Glenview, IL and they settled in Pleasant Prairie 22 years ago.
Martin was a gearhead – he loved all things with motors, rebuilding, collecting, etc.; he loved riding his motorcycle, and his most recent endeavor was rock climbing in his Jeep. He was a perfectionist when it came to work and his personal life, Martin worked hard at everything he did and took pride in taking complete care of his family. When he was in his teen years, he had developed a passion for carpentry and continued working on various projects throughout his life. He especially enjoyed working on projects with his friend, Blaise and son Nick. Martin loved traveling up north and enjoying the scenery surrounding him; he will be remembered for his persistent dreams and aspirations. The love he had for his family and especially his grandchildren surpassed everything else.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa; children, Nicholas (Paige) Lucas and Mackenzie Lucas; his mother, Victoria Houchen; sister, Christine (Michael) Stewart; four grandchildren, Aliza, Levi, Aurora and Gulianna; cousins Bill (Bessie) Sykes and Diane (Pete) Savianno; and his closest friends, Blaise Guzzo and Paul Huerta. Martin was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Dick” Lucas.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Proko Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church, 5804 Sheridan Rd., Kenosha, WI. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Pleasant Prairie, WI.
