Michael Sigman, 48 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a three year battle with colon cancer. .
He was born September 8, 1976, in Kenosha, WI the son of the late Billy Lee Sigman and Shirley Ruth (Cole) Miles. Mike graduated from Tremper High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Carthage College, Kenosha, WI. On August 3, 2007, he married the love of his life Alyssa Lawton in Kenosha, WI.
Most recently, Mike was employed by Blain’s Farm & Fleet, Sturtevant, WI as the service center manager. He loved and respected his co-workers and built many wonderful relationships while there. Mike was an avid sports enthusiast; he loved coaching, especially his favorite players Carson and Brady. Mike was an avid supporter of Kenosha sports, and was often seen at community sporting events just excited to see kids following their passions and staying involved. He and his wife had the pleasure of meeting some incredible families through their children’s sports of whom have continued to be amazing lifelong friends including the Harmon family and the Schimdt family.
Mike loved every second he was able to be with his family. He worked hard to ensure he never missed an event or activity. He loved volunteering over the years at his children’s schools and took pride in knowing who his kids were referencing at the dinner table each night. Harper, the beloved family Weimaraner, was his favorite girl and she made sure he was never alone. Mike was a certified jokester with a quick wit, always making those around him laugh. His kids favorite memory was him running around the house yelling “Who’s the Champ” after beating them in board games. He leaves behind so many silly memories that his family will continue to cherish.
Survivors include his wife, Alyssa; children, Paige (Jace) Sigman of Hampton, GA, Brady Sigman of Kenosha, WI and Carson Sigman of Kenosha, WI; siblings, Brett Sigman, Angie Eccles, and Angel Powell; nieces and nephews, Keegan, Savana, Rachel, Joseph, Maggie, Emmie Jean, Dustin, Devon, Cory, and Krystal; his father and mother-in-law, Gregory Sr. and Maureen Lawton; in-laws, Gregory (Hallie) Lawton Jr, Gretchen (Jose) Lawton – Fulgencio, and Alexander (Lauren) Lawton; and too many aunts, uncles and cousins to count.
Alyssa and the kids would like to thank the Froedtert South Cancer Center, specifically Dr. Knight, Katie Mahoney P.A, and infusion staff Ilianna, Jessie, Brileigh, Kaila, Carlie, Brittany and Martin. Their support, laughter, and exceptional care helped Mike and Alyssa navigate the last three years. Dr. Jandali and staff at the Froedtert South surgical center were also an incredible support as Mike faced multiple surgeries and extensive recoveries.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Proko Funeral Home with services commencing at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, Somers, WI. Mike was a very informal person, so come as you are and enjoy a laugh as we celebrate his wonderful life.
