Nella J. Bosman, 100, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Harvest Home Assisted Living.
Born in Kenosha, on July 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Jennie (DeHamer) Kloet. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools, and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1940.
On March 20, 1942, she married George Bosman in Kenosha. At the start of their marriage, they farmed together, she supported George throughout his career, they enjoyed their cottage up north, and traveling together after George’s retirement. He preceded her in death in 1996. After his death, Nella enjoyed traveling and volunteering for Meals on Wheels.
After high school, Nella worked for her father at Cooper’s. After marriage she became a homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed keeping herself busy with baking, knitting, embroidery, beadwork, and canning. She was a member of Kenosha Christian Reformed Church and participated in their Ladies Aid Society and taught Sunday School.
Survivors include four children: Richard (Pam) Bosman, Virginia (Harvey) DeYong, Barb (Leif) Petersen, and Diane (David) Daulton; 12 grandchildren: Michelle (Jon) Wheeler, Nadine (Brett) Sagenich, Amanda Johnson, Paul (Jennifer) DeYong, Dan (Amy) DeYong, Jennifer (Scott) Tiesman, Amy (Al) Savaglio, Erik (Courtney) Petersen, Michael Daulton, Laura (Phil) Hipper, Jonathan (Sol) Daulton, and Joshua Daulton; 15 great-grandchildren: Lucas, Landon, Lola, Leighton, Adriana, Josiah, Corinne, Audrey, Jacob, Nicole, Emma, Nella, Brock, Dane, and Allie; and a sister: Mae Bolt. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother: Herb Kloet; and a brother-in-law: Jack Bolt.
Visitation will take place on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Proko Funeral Home, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
