Phyllis L. Kaye, age 96 a resident of Kenosha passed away on Thursday, November 25th, 2021, at Brookside Care Center with her family by her side. Phyllis was born on May 9th, 1925 in Ludington, MI to Edward and Myrtle (Hansen) Olson. She attended Kenosha Public Schools. She married Stanley Kaye on October 18th, 1947 in Kenosha. Phyllis worked as a cashier at A&P and for a short period with Quacker Stretchers before becoming a homemaker. She was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church. Phyllis was known for her love of cooking and baking. She enjoyed her weekly knitting club with her neighbors and friends and loved to bowl with her dear friend Inga. Phyllis cherished her time with family, friends and loved being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley and her son David; her parents Edward and Myrtle; three sisters, Jenny Lee Langenbach, Dorothy Ruffolo and Shirley Mae Schwuchow and her brother Edward “Bud” Olson.
Phyllis is survived by two sons, Stanley “Skip” Kaye II and Phyllip (Dawn) Kaye; her daughter, Theresa Cole; five grandchildren, Yvette, Kira, Stephen, Zackary and Ethan; seven great grandchildren, Giovanni, Katalyna, Lorenzo, Joseph, Mavis, Bella and Keyora; a brother, Myrle “Buzz” Olson as well as many other family and friends.
Funeral services for Phyllis will be held at 11:00am on Monday December 6, 2021, at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church (2001-80th street) with entombment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to God’s Kitchen of Kenosha (6027-24th Avenue) would be greatly appreciated.
