Renee A. Frazier Morrison, 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Azura Memory Care in Kenosha. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, friend, and a beloved educator who taught for more than three decades in Kenosha Schools.
Renee was born August 10, 1954, to Oletha Harper and John Silverman in Chicago. Her family moved to Kenosha where she graduated from Bradford High School in 1972. Renee earned her Bachelors in Education at UW-Oshkosh and later earned her Masters of Education from Lesley University. On February 18, 1991, she married Madison James Morrison in Kenosha. Although the couple later divorced, they remained good friends.
As an educator, Renee put her heart and soul into teaching. She impacted countless elementary students, beginning her career at Frank and Grant before making her home at Southport where she taught for most of her career. She was treasured and respected by her colleagues and was honored with the American Association of University Women’s Educational Excellence Award in 2008.
Second Baptist Church in Kenosha was Renee’s spiritual home, where she was deeply involved over the years in Baptist Youth Fellowship education, singing in The Voices of Second Baptist Choir, teaching Sunday School, Mission Ministry, and other activities.
Of her many achievements, by far the most important part of Renee’s life was her family. She was so proud of her children, her “Twinkies” Denée and Dominic and son, Cory; and her greatest joy was being “Yaya” to her grandchildren, Zane and Zaiden. Renee’s boundless love extended to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren.
Throughout her life, Renee connected to her family and friends through her hobbies. She played softball and racquetball in her younger years, always loved playing cards, and was the reigning family champion in word games such as Scrabble and Words with Friends. Her affinity for music and her incredible vocal talent will live in her loved ones’ memories forever as she shared her gifts in performances at church and school shows.
Renee lived life to the fullest, and touched so many others with her gentle kindness, amazing personality, and unforgettable smile.
Renee is survived by her daughter, Denée Frazier (Attila Jordan); two sons, Dominic Frazier and Cory Morrison (Monique); two beautiful grandsons, Zane and Zaiden Frazier; cousins, Ellis Strickland III (Roberta Harner); Roshena Andrews (Robert); Tonya Frazier Hooker; Oletha Payne (Shawn); Edward Frazier (Denise); Pierre Calhoun, Derrick Watkins, Rodney Watkins; Henry Thurman father of Denée and Dominic; former husband, Madison James Morrison; best friend, Roberta Harner, her beloved godchildren and countless loved ones and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oletha Harper and John Silverman; sisters, Celess Cosby and Loretta Frazier Thompson; and brothers, Edward Frazier, Carl Frazier, Robert Watkins, and Elijah Frazier; nephews, Wilson Sutton Jr, Christopher Harper and Brian Frazier.

SERVICE LOCATION Second Baptist Church
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave, Kenosha, and on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 3925 32nd Ave., Kenosha.
Interment will follow in Greenridge Cemetery.
