Richard Lawrence “Rick” Anton, 76, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Northwestern Hospital, Lake Forest, IL.
Born on May 7, 1948, in Evanston, IL; he was the son of the late Marcel John and Rosemarie (Molitor) Anton. He attended St. Mary’s Grammar School, St. George High School, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Xavier College in Cincinnati, with a degree in accounting.
He served in the United States Army Reserve for several years.
On August 27, 1977, he married Kathleen “Kathy” Randall at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.
Rick was the owner and operator of Anton’s Greenhouse in Pleasant Prairie, WI, with his brother, Gary, for over 48 years.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He was very glued to his family; everything was all about them.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Anton; two children, Richard Jr. and Nicole Anton; one sister, Arlene (Don) Meyer; one brother, Gary Michael Anton; his best friend and cousin, Mary Molitor Borre; his best friend since childhood, Rocco Anthony Sapienza; and many other special family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Robert John Anton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 27, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Prayers will be held from Proko Funeral Home on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the funeral home, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
