Robert “Bob” A. Tinnen, 85 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family Friday, February 16, 2024 at Froedtert South St. Catherine’s Hospital.
He was born on June 30, 1938 to the late Noel and Marie (Priske) Tinnen in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.
Bob served in the Army National Guard and was activated during the Berlin Crisis. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. He was honorably discharged.
On December 30, 1961 he married Judith Dunk at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Racine.
Bob was employed at Speedway Garage until 1964. He then worked at Outokumpu (American Brass) from 1964 until it closed as an extrusion grinder. After that, Bob worked at the recycling plant for the City of Kenosha. He was also a member of the Machinist Lodge #34 and the American Brass Retiree Club.
Bob was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Bob enjoyed cars, traveling, reading and loved to tease. Most of all, Bob loved spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Judy, his children Gail Tinnen-Ives of Kenosha, Rob Tinnen of Park Falls, WI and Mark Tinnen of Kenosha, his grandchildren Kyle Ives of Kenosha, Katelyn (Matt) Holm of Glidden, WI and Morgan Tinnen of Phillips, WI, his great grandchildren Kimmy Ives and Ivan Holm, his brother Tom (Elsa) Tinnen of Gold Canyon, AZ and several beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a grandson Gunnar Ives, nephews Kevin Dunk and Noel Tinnen and a niece Eileen Gales.
A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held on Saturday, February 24th at 1:00 p.m. at Casa Capri (2129 Birch Road) with Military Honors to follow. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the restaurant. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to Hospice Alliance, St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to the Kenosha Area Vietnam Veterans.
