He was educated in the schools of Park Falls, where he earned many letters in football, basketball, and baseball. He was named prom king and even won a high school dance contest with his best friend. He worked at Twin Disc as a tool and die maker for many years before retiring. Bob was a member of the Lac Courtes Oreilles Tribe of the Lake Superior Band of the Ojibwe. His hobbies included golfing, bowling, reading Louis L’amour westerns, and playing what he called the truest version of softball, fastpitch.
