Roger D. Borggren, 90, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on this day October 16th, 2023.
He was born on November 2nd, 1932, the son of Chris and Ethel Borggren. Roger was educated in local Kenosha schools and graduated from old Kenosha High School.
On November 29th, 1952, Roger was united in marriage to Gladys Strusky at Saint Casimir’s church in Kenosha. They remained married for over 70 years.
In 1952 Roger served in the United States Army as a Corporal in the Military Police at Fort Munroe, Virginia. He was honorably discharged from service in 1954.
For many years, Roger enjoyed singing in the Snap-On-Chorus. He served as president of Kenosha Traffic Club; he was a Cub Scout Master and a member of the International Order of Job’s Daughters Bethel 77. Roger was an avid fisherman and reader of military history. But his most enjoyable pastime was metal detecting. This hobby took him all over the country and down sandy beaches of Florida. Roger was also a member of the Kenosha Senior Citizens Center.
He retired from Otto Nelson & Sons United Van Lines in 1996 after 10 years of service.
Funeral services will be held for immediate family only.
Roger will be sadly missed by his wife Gladys and their five children; Debra Topolovec, Steven (Nancy) Borggren, Victoria (Ed) Leuck, Heidi (Michael) Burrow, and Christine Borggren. Nine grandchildren; Timothy Topolovec, Natalie Loewe, Olivia Cassiday, Dana and Amber Borggren, Ethan and Ella Burrow, Cheyenne and Vivian Stemple, and Keristin York. Great grandchildren; Cole and Ava Topolovec, Ruby and Holly Loewe, and Lola Ramirez. He has a half-brother Chris Borggren living in California.
Roger is preceded in death by his mother Ethel Borggren, his father Chris Borggren and his brother Howard Borggren.
