Roger Lee Krah, 87 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
He was born July 16, 1936, in Kenosha, WI the son of the late Harry and Sophie (Slagoski) Krah. He married Juanita Kayala at St. Anthony Catholic Church in 1965. She later preceded him in death in 2020.
Roger was educated in Kenosha schools. He enlisted in the Marines, driving amphibious vehicles and fire trucks in California. Roger worked for American Motors where he was elected to proudly serve on the UAW Executive Board, finally retiring from Chrysler after 40 years. Roger and his wife loved listening to “The Oldies” and Elvis, even seeing him in concert. They would travel regularly to Puerto Vallarta Mexico where he loved to hike the mountain trails and walk along the beach. He liked adventure, visiting Europe, going to California, driving across the country to Yellowstone and Las Vegas, and flying to Hawaii in his eighties to visit friends and
family. Roger was very active, working out at the YMCA, running marathons and walking miles well into his seventies. He also loved working in his yard, especially maintaining his perennial garden. Roger loved watching the Milwaukee Brewers, attending almost every home game, and playing cards with his buddies, grilling in his backyard and going out to eat with family and friends.
Survivors include his two daughters, Natalie A. Krah, MD (Jim Immel) and Barbara (Hughes) Peterlin; granddaughters, Heather Smukowski and Alana Doherty; and sister, Carol (John) Otahal; and nieces Joyce, Jill, Maureen and Mary. Roger will be deeply missed by his 2 cats, Tigger and Penelope.
In addition to his parents and wife, Roger was preceded in death by a daughter, Rivelle Smukowski, and his brother and sister in-law Norman and Leona Krah.
On what would have been Roger’s 88th birthday, July 16th, 2024, a celebration of life will be held at All Saints Mausoleum Chapel, Pleasant Prairie, WI. Visitation will commence at 1:00 p.m. with chapel services following at 2:00 p.m.
