Ronald “Ron” J. Hornby, 65, of Kenosha, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie.
Born February 27, 1959, in Kenosha, WI he was the son of Robert R. and Alice (Schmidt) Hornby.
Ron was employed by AMC-Chrysler in Toledo, Ohio for 28 years until his retirement. He then moved back to Kenosha, WI, and stayed busy working at NAPA Auto Parts, Proko Funeral Home, and the Kenosha Municipal Airport.
He enjoyed hiking, walking, traveling, attending baseball games, spending time with his family, girlfriend and friends, playing Pickleball, and literally flying above everything else.
Ron is survived by his parents, Robert R. and Alice Hornby of Kenosha, WI; son, Chris; grandchildren, Ryan, Codie, Jenna, Aiden, and Paxton; sister, Deborah (Khalid) Ansari; nieces, Rani Khan, and Sarah Ansari; nephew, Babar Ansari; great-nephew; Cosimo; loving girlfriend, Cindy L. Cutler; his two cats, Bear and Taz; best friend Walt; and many special aunts, uncles, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Allen Hornby in 1976.
Ron will forever be remembered for his heart of gold, his witty sense of humor, and his infectious smile. He will be sorely missed by all of us who were so greatly touched by his life.
A memorial service will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park at a later date.
