Ruth Ann West (Hansen), age 85, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on April 14th, 2025, at Parkside Manor. She was born on November 1st, 1939, in Racine, WI, to the late Irving and Edna (Jensen) Hansen. On February 21st, 1956, she eloped to Corinth, Mississippi and in a double wedding with her sister, married Dale West. She stayed faithfully married to him until his death on March 9th, 2010.
Ruth was very generous and kind to all. She loved caring for her family and always made their house feel like a home. Her family loved her cooking very much, especially for the holidays. She loved nature and being outdoors. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed birdwatching. She knew several bird calls and it was thought that she could speak to them. In her free time, she loved decorating birdhouses, going to the casino, and spending time with her beloved grandson Tyler. She was also known for her great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. During her days at Parkside Manor, she loved socializing with the other residents and playing games with them, especially bingo.
She is survived by her children: Stacey (Anthony) West-Rivera and Jason West, grandchild: Tyler West (Marissa Torres), sister: JoAnn DeClute, nephews: Daniel (Lynn) Kruck, Michael (Valerie) Kruck, several cousins, great nephews and nieces, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nephew: David Kruck, great nephew: David Allen Kruck, brother-in-law: William DeClute, special cousin: Phyllis Larsen and granddog: Addie.
The family would like to thank the residents and staff at Parkside Manor for being a part of Ruth’s life and making her final days more comfortable.
As per her wishes, services will be held privately.
