Sandra Marie “Sandi” Ligocki, 79, of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Brookside Care Center.
Born on May 10, 1945, in Tracy, MN, she was the daughter of the late Dalton and Pearl (Rassmusen) Charlson.
On August 5, 1980, she married Richard Ligocki in the “Little Brown Church in the Valle”, Nashua, IA. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2014.
Sandi graduated from Carthage College and worked for 33 years as an elementary school art teacher for Kenosha Unified, retiring in 2001.
She loved watching Packer games and kept busy with knitting. In the summer, she enjoyed tending to her garden. She loved animals and was proud mom to her many fur babies. She always had room in her heart and an open door and lap for her neighborhood pups.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Michael (Judith) Ligocki; sisters-in-law, Marie (Don) Barnum, Kathy Charlson, and Evelyn Charlson; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers, David and Glenn Charlson; and sister-in-law, Ruth Charlson.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:15 a.m. A graveside committal will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wisconsin Humane Society Kenosha Campus would be appreciated by the family.
