Shirley “Sis” Blasi 90, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 24, 2020 and Eugene “Gene” Blasi Jr., 91, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 7, 2021.
Shirley was born on July 22, 1930 to the late William and Estella (Carl) Richter in Kenosha. Gene was born on October 13, 1929 to the late Eugene “John” and Cathryn (Bergmann) Blasi Sr. in Kenosha. They were both educated in Kenosha.
Shirley and Gene were married on January 27, 1951 in Racine.
Gene entered the US Army on March 5, 1951 and was honorably discharged on March 3, 1953. He received the Army Occupation Medal (Japan).
Gene first worked as a milkman, then at Simmons Company and retired from Jockey International as a salesman. Upon retirement Gene worked for Shepherd’s Crook golf course in Zion, IL up until 2017.
Shirley enjoyed country line dancing at the Senior Center, enjoyed antiques and making dolls and Gene enjoyed golfing and had many golf outings with the Leach family.
They were both members of the Kenosha Country Club.
Shirley and Gene are survived by a niece Susan (Dale) Wieselman, friend Fay Hoffman, nephew LeRoy (Janice) Leach Jr., niece Nancy (Carlos) Vestal, sister-in-law Marge Richter, two grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews.
Shirley is preceded in death by her siblings Elton (Lydia) Richter Sr., Virginia “Jean” (LeRoy) Leach, Arthur (Agnes) Richter, William (Joyce) Richter Jr. and Charles Richter. Gene is preceded in death by his siblings Frank (Marlene) Blasi, Ralph (Donna) Blasi, Victor (Margaret) Blasi and Laura (Joe) Putrynski. They both are preceded in death by their only son Eugene “Craig” Blasi.
Graveside services for Shirley and Gene will be held on Monday, May 10th at 3:00 p.m. with Full Military Honors for Gene at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery (21731 Spring St. Union Gove, WI).
