Shirley Knapp, 76, of Kenosha passed away on March 2, 2025, at Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born on March 8, 1948, in Oconto Falls, WI, the daughter of the late Leo and Dorothy (Hudson) Truax Sr. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha graduating from Bradford High School. Shirley married Kenneth Knapp on July 31, 1965, in Kenosha. She was a dietary manager for Hospitality Manor for many years. Shirley was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, fishing, going on casino trips, cheering for the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs but most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Knapp of Kenosha; children, Rich (Krisan) Knapp of Kenosha, Steve (Samantha) Knapp of Wausau, Jennifer Knapp of Kenosha; brothers, Ronnie Truax of Kenosha, David Truax of MI, Charlie (Judy) Truax of WI; sisters, Donna (Dave) Gilliam of WI, Debbie Troup of AZ, Julie Truax of Kenosha; grandchildren, Courtney, Meagan, Madelyn, Rose; also included are her great-grandchildren, Mason, Sydney and Koa. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gerald, Robert and Leo Jr.
The family would like to thank Dr. Griffiths & Dr. Habel including their staff and all of the ICU nurses.
