Susan H. Hollander, 74, of Bristol, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Froedtert South St. Catherine’s Hospital.
She was born on November 13, 1948 to the late Albert and Elaine (Fountain) Hovorka in Charleston, WV. The oldest of ten children, Susan attended school in Charleston and graduated from Morris Harvey College with a BA in English and Social Science. Susan then moved to Glencoe, IL, where she met Robert Hollander. They married on June 4, 1975.
After playing tennis at the collegiate level, she competed professionally and taught tennis in Highland Park, IL for several years. She later worked at Star Packaging in Northbrook, IL. During her working years and into retirement. Susan enjoyed gardening, baking, watching tennis and westerns, boating, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Susan is survived by her husband Robert, her daughter Alison (Jay) Campbell, her son Reed (Beth) Hollander, her grandchildren Joseph Cambroni, Linnea Hollander, Colton Soto, Logan Hollander and Danika Soto, and her siblings Barbara Hovorka, Heidi Haynes, Cindee Sandridge, Jeanne Parsons, Tom Hovorka, Patricia and Lee Hovorka.
She is preceded in death by a brother Jeff Hovorka and a sister Chris Hovorka.
A Celebration of Life for Susan will be held in the spring of 2024.
