Thomas “Tom” Alvin Vaupel, 54, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
Born on June 5, 1968, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Alvin and Karen (Rauen) Vaupel. He enlisted in the Navy in 1987 and served in Desert Storm. He was honorably discharged in 1991. In 2020, he married Danya Holcomb.
Tom was a collector of MANY things. He loved to spend his time fishing with family and talking war history, especially navy ships. He was great at shooting his guns and knew everything about them. He trained the guards how to shoot when he worked at the nuclear powerplant in IL. He was an avid Dungeon and Dragons player. Tom was a friendly and compassionate guy that made lifelong friends wherever he went. He was best known for his kind and caring soul and will be deeply missed by many.
Tom is survived by his wife, Danya; sons, Shawn Cornelius, and Brodie Davis; parents, Alvin and Karen; and his beloved fur baby, Brandey.
A memorial visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home on April 2, 2023, from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm. Military honors to follow. Interment will be held privately.
