Thomas Michael Plaga, age 73, of Kenosha, passed away on October 12th, 2023. He was born on August 15th, 1950, to the late Charles and Bertha (Schramm) Plaga, in Jackson, MI. He attended St. Mary’s High School and shortly after graduation, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served until 1993. While in the Military, he met his future wife Debbi Lloyd, which he later married on December 29th, 1973, in Battle Creek, MI. They were together for over 50 years.
After the military, Thomas went on to complete his master’s degree from the School of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. He worked in the Social Work field for many years, and most recently worked at the Lake County Health Department in Illinois. Thomas loved motorcycles, reading and gardening in his free time.
Thomas is survived by his wife Debbi Plaga, daughter: Cassi (Tim) Pinter, grandchildren: Zoi, Harley (Zac), Kade (Hope), Lexi (David), and Dequavion, a great grandchild: Huxley, sisters: Betty Jo DeForest, and Rose Marie, a brother-in-law: Henri LaBorde, and many other living relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother: Charles, and sister: Mary Lou.
As per the family’s wishes, services will be held privately.
