Tmeshia D. Toms- Stevenson, affectionately known as “Mimi”, was born October 25th, 1991, in Seguin, Texas to her loving parents Felicia Stevenson and Torrance Toms. Mimi was a quiet child. Always very content whether playing by herself or with others. She was a very peaceful and graceful child.
Mimi attended Carmen Elementary (Waukegan), Benjamin Carson Academy (Milwaukee), Washington Middle School (Kenosha), and graduated from Bradford High School (Kenosha).
Mimi had a loving, caring and gentle soul. She was dedicated to the Lord as a baby, raised in the admonition of the Lord as a child, and had a love for the Lord and people all her life. She served the homeless at the Shalom Center and First United Methodist Church in Racine Wisconsin starting as early as her early teenage years. Mimi also loved animals and volunteered at the Humane Society as well.
Mimi enjoyed a variety of music but her favorite genres were gospel and soul. She loved journaling. Her favorite color was blue but even as a chocolate baby she was afraid of the color black. Eeyore and Stitch were her favorite characters. She also enjoyed activities like Sudoku, crosswords, puzzles and crocheting. She loved to prepare very delicious and nutritious dishes.
Mimi was very simple and liked her “alone time”. She also knew what to do to make you laugh without saying a word. Additionally, her laugh was contagious… she just couldn’t help but make you laugh one way or another. But the one thing she loved the most of all was spending time with her two boys Keondre “Tre” and Elijah along with her best friend and children’s father Ade Jackson.
Coming to an understanding that her christening was not a part of her obedience to the Lord, Mimi was baptized at age 32 at Apostolic Faith Church. Around this same time the Lord sent her a God dad who would nurture her in a new season of her spiritual life. She once said she felt like she had known him all her life. Something only God could do.
