William “Bill” Andrew Dixon, 80, of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Aurora Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 23, 1941, in Kenosha, WI; he was the son of the late William and Ruth (Anderson) Dixon. He attended local schools and graduated from Bradford High School.
On October 14, 1961, he married Margaret “Peggy” Judeika at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Kenosha, WI.
Bill was employed as a Machine Operator for Ladish Co. for almost 36 years, until his retirement on March 1, 2001. He also was employed at American Motors for 5 years.
He was a member of the Tri-Clover Club, the Moose Club 60’s & 70’s, and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. He was very active at Mt. Carmel where he served as an usher, and secretary of Mt. Carmel Holy Name Society. He coached CYC Football.
After his love for his family, he loved hunting and spending time up north, tending to his garden (Kenosha’s finest tomatoes) and making his famous homemade pretzels. He especially liked the weekly family card games.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Peggy Dixon of Kenosha; four children, Bill (Katy) Dixon of Kenosha, Dave Dixon of Kenosha, Susan Phillips of Kenosha, and Ruthann (Jerry) Alter of Trevor, WI; nine grandchildren, Bill and Brett Phillips, Stephanie Dixon, Adam (Rachael) Dixon, Alex and Abby Kate Dixon, Ashley, Rebecca, and Abbie Margaret Alter; and one great-granddaughter, Amelia Dixon.
Our family would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Malik T. Bandealy, and his team; and to Dr. James Bury and his team for the exceptional care over the past years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial at St. George Cemetery will follow. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Face masks will be required per the request of the family.
