Wilma Johnson, 82, of Kenosha passed away on January 31, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center of Kenosha.
Wilma was born on July 2, 1940, in Athens, Alabama, the daughter of the late James and Rosemary (Beasley) Pryor. She was educated in the schools of Alabama. Wilma was employed for Kenosha Unified School District as security for many years. She was a member of Journey Church which she served as an usher. Her hobbies included traveling, fishing, bowling, sewing, cooking, baking, being a girl scout leader, volunteering for the community, she also volunteered for The Salvation Army and won several awards for her community outreach services, but most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Maxine (Charles) Smith of Gary, IN, Rosetta Harris of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Lawrence Starks Sr. of IN; sister, Jean (Joann) Edwards of IN; son-in law, Mark O’Brien of Wauwatosa; special friend, Scott Klinger of Twin Lakes; also included are her 2 grandchildren, Jazzmin Butler and Rosetta Harris; and 3 great grandchildren, Imani Sherrod, Amari Shakir and Deitric Harris. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; children, Melva Harris, Denia Harris, Mack M. Butler III, Andrew F. Butler-Harris, Julia A. Butler, Joelethe L. Johnson; also, her siblings, Adolph, Charles, James and Eula.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday February 4, 2023 at Journey Church at 3:00PM.
